Bruce Hodgess
Drums
Bruce believes he was born to be a drummer. His sense of
rhythm and timing have given him a unique style and sound
which could be described as drumming with an edge, yet
compatible with the many different styles of music he
plays.
Early days took Bruce to the Sydney Conservatorium and
studies with master jazz drummers such as Phil Treloar and
later with David Jones. This led to many ventures from
funk/rock outfits to big band jazz.
Bruce has worked the Sydney scene extensively with several
original and cover bands as well as touring nationally and
overseas with bands such as Squeeze, Hot Rox and
Stonehenge and supporting numerous international bands.
Bruce likes to work closely with the bass player to lay
down the groove and set the foundation for the band.
Whether it is Pop, Rock, Funk or Jazz a tight rhythm
section is essential and having that is a big part of the
success and energy of DIVAMANIA.

During this time he developed an original style and sound,
gaining popular recognition from his many loyal

band about being part of this show and the opportunity to
use his ability to play a variety of musical styles.
